ABOUT

Since 2005 Syrinx Concerts Toronto has presented chamber music repertoire at the Heliconian Hall an intimate salon setting, as it was intended to be heard. The concerts programmed cater to music lovers in Toronto and the wider GTA. The unique and intimate Syrinx concert experience programmed by artistic director Dorothy Sandler-Glick offers exposure to rising stars, as well as established concert performers and principal players from leading orchestras. Syrinx Concert Toronto programmes combine familiar classic chamber music compositions along with innovative contemporary pieces, including music by Canadian composers.

The annual  concert series’ mission is to promote and encourage Canadian musicians, providing performance opportunities for both established and emerging young artists. As well, each concert must include music by a Canadian composer either from an existing work or a commissioned piece for the performer(s).  By integrating new works within the familiar ‘classical’ repertoire the programs will be accessible to all.

The audience enthusiasm at the concerts has made the Syrinx Concerts Toronto experience very special.  For everyone involved, it’s gratifying to learn that the performers extol the warmth and receptiveness of the Syrinx audience and that they look forward to performing in the series again.
